Under the Veil I Rule

Chapter 313

Amara was an incredibly talented screenwriter. People used to praise her for her captivating TV shows and her beautiful writing. Basically, they admired her talent.

But now, the compliments seemed to shift towards her looks. At first, Amara didn't mind, but after hearing it repeatedly, it became a bit dull. So, she found an excuse to leave the group and headed over to grab some food.

She was feeling hungrier these days due to her pregnancy, but she wasn't there just for the food. After nibbling on a couple of snacks, she started looking for Elysia.

Earlier, Elysia and Dorian had gone into a deserted hallway, and a few minutes later, they walked out one after the other. Elysia was in front, clenching her fists with reddened eyes, while Dorian followed with a sullen expression.

Seeing Elysia like that, Amara knew she had been wronged. She furrowed her brows and walked over, "Ely, what's going on?"

Before Elysia could speak, Dorian interjected, "You both should just leave. It's Jessica's birthday today, and you don't belong here."

That comment lit a fire in Amara. She raised her head and said, "You've done such a shameless thing, and now you're bullying Elysia like this? You've gone too far!"

"What did you just say?" Dorian's face darkened instantly, and his tone was dangerously icy.

Amara was trembling with anger. She couldn't believe that even now, Dorian was still defending Jessica.

At that moment, Jessica approached, softly saying, "Maybe we shouldn't ask Ms. Moon and Ms. Sullivan to leave. They're our guests; let them enjoy their meal first."

"Shut up! No one asked for your opinion!" Amara snapped coldly.

She didn't hold back at all, leaving Jessica on the verge of tears, looking as if she'd been grievously wronged, which only disgusted Amara further.

"What on earth is going on here?"

Finnian walked over, his tall figure standing protectively beside Amara. Seeing her anger, his expression darkened a bit.

He gently took her hand, lowering his voice, "What's gotten you so upset?"

Amara, frustrated with Dorian, was tempted to take it out on Finnian and almost pulled her hand away. But after a moment's thought, she refrained and replied with a cold smile, "What do you think happened?"

The mere fact that Dorian was throwing a birthday party for Jessica spoke volumes. Amara didn't bother to explain further, knowing Finnian understood.

He simply let go of Amara, turned to Dorian, and said, "You've really crossed the line today."

He didn't bother to keep his voice down, so everyone around, including Jessica, heard him.

Jessica's complexion paled, and Dorian frowned, about to retort, but Finnian placed an arm around his shoulder and led him aside.

Amara wasn't sure what they discussed, but when they returne both seemed unusually quiet, indicating the conversation hadn't gone well. noveldrama

What surprised Amara most was that Finnian actually went to talk to Dorian

instead of immediately siding with his friend.

Pondering whether to ask Finnian about it, he approached her.

"How did you get here?" He didn't mention Dorian but asked this instead.

"We had the driver bring us."

The Moon family had a chauffeur, and Elysia usually had a driver when she went out. Amara had just tagged along in the Moon family's car.

Finnian was silent for a moment, then suddenly took her hand and led her aside.
